Tracking Tropical Tempest Fengshen

Typhoon Tracking is an interactive map which shows the projected path of tropical tempest Fengshen. The map combines an overlay of the storm's predicted path amongst a motion-picture exhibit of how the tempest appears from the Himawari-9 satellite. The predicted path was downloaded from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center. The video of the tempest was created using images from the Himawari-8 Real-time Web website.

I created this map to encounter Day 13's 'tracking' map chore inward the #30DayMapChallenge I actually don't similar the map real much exactly it has taken me far besides long creating this already too I haven't got whatever to a greater extent than fourth dimension to spare today to better the map. One big error I made inward making the map was to add together the storm's rails to a map manner inward Mapbox Studio. This way that the rails is purpose of the base-map too appears below the video layer. If I had some to a greater extent than fourth dimension I would add together the storm's rails every bit a layer inward a higher house the video layer, thence that the rails isn't hidden behind the video.

If I had a lot to a greater extent than fourth dimension I mightiness also play or thence amongst the color values inward the satellite images thence that the created animated video blends to a greater extent than seamlessly amongst the body of body of water color inward the background Mapbox satellite map layer.

If you lot desire to arrive at your ain video overlay map using Mapbox GL too thence you lot should arrive at got a hold off at this video overlay demo map from the Mapbox GL documentation.
